Independent Training Protocols

Purpose

Independent Training is dedicated time for individual practice of skills you've already learned and feel confident performing. While the staff is present for safety and equipment support, this is not an instructional period.

Dress Code Guidelines

* For safety reasons please follow these guidelines:

Hair off the face and long hair must be tied up neatly.

● No jewelry is allowed.

Socks are mandatory.

● Tighter fitting clothing is best, so it doesn't get caught on equipment. Wearing a tighter fitting top long enough to cover your stomach, so it doesn't slide over the face when upside down is highly recommended.

Bring an extra layer for warmth with long sleeves and covered legs.

Cell phones are not permitted and will be placed in student's storage cubbies during class time.

Etiquette

Individual Focus
This is YOUR time to work on YOUR practice.
No teaching or instructing other students.
Each person is responsible for their own training.
Save skill sharing for regular classes with our instructors.

Training Expectations
Practice only moves and sequences you've previously learned in class.
Save new skills for regular class sessions with instructor supervision.
If unsure about a skill, wait to practice it during a formal class.

Safety First
Always check your equipment before use.
Keep your practice area clear.
Maintain awareness of others in the space.
Stop if you feel overly fatigued.
