The Company
iFLY Aerial Arts is a vibrant aerial school led by Anahareo Doelle, a graduate of the prestigious National Circus School in Montreal. Our roots run deep in Newfoundland’s own Wonderbolt Circus, where our love for movement and performance first took flight.
Located in The S.P.A.C.E — a dynamic, multi-purpose venue in the heart of downtown St. John’s — iFLY offers aerial classes and events in a creative, inclusive environment.
Our team of experienced instructors is dedicated to fostering a fun, supportive, and safe space for students of all levels. Whether you're exploring aerial hoop, silks, hammock, or trapeze, training at iFLY is an empowering journey that builds strength, confidence, and a deeper connection to your body.

The Instructors

Anahareo Doelle
Artistic Director
Anahareo Doelle is the co-director of the St. John’s International CircusFest, now entering its 8th year. A graduate of the National Circus School in Montreal, she specialized in aerial hoop and silks and has spent the past 18 years performing in Canada, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Japan, and Germany.
Anahareo spent seven years living and performing in Berlin before returning home to St. John’s in 2011 with her husband and family. Passionate about growing the circus on the East Coast, she founded and directs iFLY Aerial Arts, an aerial school recognized in 2022 when she received the ArtsNL Arts Educator of the Year Award.
Most recently, Anahareo was appointed president of the board of En Piste, Canada’s National Circus Alliance—becoming the first person outside of Quebec to take on the role.

Leila Stewart
Leila has been part of the aerial arts world for over 10 years, and her passion for movement, creativity, and community shines through in every class she teaches.
Currently pursuing a degree in Sociology at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Leila blends her academic curiosity about people and society with her real-world love of working with kids. Whether she’s coaching first-time flyers or supporting advanced students through their next big trick, her teaching style is energetic, thoughtful, and rooted in making every student feel seen, strong, and inspired.

Megan Hobbs
Megan has been flying with iFLY Aerial Arts for well over 10 years. With a background in dance and having trained at prestigious ballet schools across North America, Megan loves how Aerial Arts allows the freedom to take movement into the air!
Megan loves sharing her passion for the arts with her students and feels very fortunate to be a member of the iFLY team. Through her time with iFLY, she is grateful to have had the opportunity to perform with iFLY and Wonderbolt across Newfoundland and Labrador.
When on the ground, Megan can often be found completing her Master Of Business Administration and working in our local energy industry.

Laura Bass
Laura has a life-long love of the movement arts, and became involved at an early age in the art of figure skating. Since then, she has worked as a skating coach, a yoga and acro-yoga teacher, and as an aerial arts teacher.
She believes in the joy circus brings to people in the form of a creative outlet, and how it brings people together through community. Laura is continually inspired by students and artists in this community and is eager to continue learning, sharing and creating through movement.
When she’s not in the studio, she is out exploring the beautiful forests and coastlines of Newfoundland with her partner and four dogs.

Ava Afonso
Ava has been immersed in the world of aerials since elementary school, bringing years of passion and experience to the studio. With a strong foundation in dance, she brings strength, creativity, and confidence to every class. Ava loves teaching and helping students connect with their creativity through movement.
Outside of the studio, she is pursuing a science degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland, with a strong interest in nutrition and dietetics.

Sofia Alberto
With a decade of aerial experience, Sofia is now in her fourth year of teaching. She enjoys hoop and hammock, and especially loves sharing her enthusiasm for silks with students.
Outside the studio, she’s preparing to start nursing school this fall, excited to bring the same focus and energy to her studies.

Mia Critch
Mia started aerials when she was 13 years old and has since grown into a passionate teacher and emerging performer. Her creativity, dedication, and love for the art form shine through in every iFLY class she leads.
Mia is currently a Grade 12 student at Holy Heart of Mary High School and loves being part of the iFLY community.

Charlotte Aubrey-Bassler
Charlotte is an aerialist at iFly with 7 years of experience. She works with all apparatuses, but connects most with the hoop and hammock. As an instructor, she hopes to create a safe environment for students to grow and express themselves creatively.
Outside of the studio, Charlotte is a grade 12 student who enjoys baking, running, and playing the violin.

Jordan Micucci
Jordan has been teaching at iFLY since 2019 and works across all aerial apparatuses—but her heart belongs to the aerial hoop. Known for her ability to blend strength, fluidity, and creativity, Jordan brings a thoughtful and empowering approach to every class. She is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop their own style, and feel strong in the air.

Outside the studio, Jordan is just as dedicated to her academic pursuits. She is currently focused on the sciences, with a particular interest in biochemistry and neuroscience. Whether she’s in the lab or the air, Jordan is always exploring how the body and mind work together—and she brings that curiosity and care into her teaching.
